Join The Fashion Class this summer in Merrick, the only fashion design and sewing camp for teens that teaches both sewing and the artistic side of fashion. No sewing experience required.
Our Teen fashion design summer camp in Merrick, Long Island is a chic and fashionable way to spend summer vacation! Students ages 13-17 years old will learn to sew using a sewing machine, illustrate and design fashion and take a one-day field trip into NYC to shop at Mood Fabrics!
The Fashion Class is a year round program and facility that teaches teens sewing, draping, marketing and merchandising all throughout the school year and summer. We have a large 3000 Sq ft studio featuring a sewing room and art room. Our camp instructors (and our CPR & First Aid certified TFC manager) are graduates of fashion and art programs at some of the best fashion schools in the world, like Parsons and FIT.
Our fashion camp is for serious fashionistas who want to make their designs and dreams a reality!
Join us as we sew, drape, illustrate and even go one a one-day shopping at Mood Designer Fabrics in Manhattan! Campers can join for 1+ weeks of camp. Each day will involve sewing in our fully equipped studio and sketching fashion!

Class Descriptions:
Sewing: In our sewing class students will learn to use the sewing machine to create garments for themselves. We give our teen students full reign to design, choose fabric and create their own garments with help from our knowledgeable staff. We encourage students to make 2 items in one week. Our studio also has serger machines, dress forms and steam irons as well as all sewing supplies.
Fashion Illustration: This class is the perfect relaxing way to end the camp day in our bright and sunny art classroom. Students will learn how to sketch the croquis, render fabric, and use paint, fashion markers and more to bring their design to paper.
Field Trip: On Tuesday of their camp week campers will go on a chaperoned field trip to Mood Designer Fabrics locates at 225 west 37th street in Manhattan NY. At Mood students will be given a budget (included in the camp fee) to purchase fabric for their designs to use throughout the rest of the week. The campers will travel via private car service (with one instructor per five campers) from our studio to Mood Fabrics and return to The Fashion Class studio.
Lunch: We have a refrigerator, microwave and water cooler in our studio. Lunch is not included in the camp fee.
Small class sizes of up to 10 ensures each student gets attention and the tools they need to design and create!
