Central American Service Expeditions (CASE) arose from the need for quality international service and inter-cultural experiences for young people. As economic production and consumption become more global, it is critical that all of us learn more about the world in which we live and on which we all depend. This process is best begun at an early age when young people are just starting to take an interest in the world around them. A service expedition combines community service with adventure travel to some of the most beautiful places in the world. A service expedition with CASE helps open a young person’s mind to the many possibilities of the world and our role within it. Central American Service Expeditions embodies our commitment to take young adults out of their comfort zone and place them within a context that allows them to challenge stereotypes they may hold about about other cultures and perhaps about themselves. Our goal is to provide tools for young people to think critically about poverty, development, and privilege.
