Camp STEMchicks, our week-long day camps, allow girls to investigate and discover STEM in a fun, hands-on environment. Girls also have the opportunity to hear from women who work in STEM-related fields.STEMchicks is a Central Florida-based 501(c)(3) organization that engages girls by providing a STEM-based education designed specifically for them — empowering them to succeed in science, technology, engineering, and math. Girls participate in fun, hands-on STEM activities, have an opportunity to hear from female STEM professionals for motivation and college/career guidance, and engage in confidence boosting experiences.
Our mission is to cultivate girls’ interest in STEM-related college majors and careers by promoting academic achievement through fun and engaging hands-on learning activities.
To achieve our mission, STEMchicks partners with school districts and state colleges and universities to offer a girls-only environment that consists of after school, weekend, and summer programs. Girls are surrounded by positive female role models from the Education and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields to help increase girls’ motivation and better prepare them for the 21st century.
STEMchicks’ programs are aligned with Common Core and Sunshine State Standards and include activities that help girls to develop critical 21st century skills.
